Winter Adventure Weekend

Kirkland Lake is about an 8 hour drive north of Toronto.
Guest would normally arrive Friday evening and stay at a local hotel. They would be met Saturday morning and have breakfast with the host. Then proceed to the main cabin on snowshoes, about a 20-minute trip.
After a warm up, then go on a longer trip around the lake, setting snares, and having a lunch over a campfire. In the afternoon activities could include starting a landscape painting, working on a hunting knife, or assisting on a large stainless steel sculpture. That night the guest would sleep in a woodstove-heated Yurt.
For Sunday, there are a few options. If wanting a longer snowshoe trip, an excursion could be taken to a more remote shelter, about a 3-hour trip each way, with lunch at the shelter. Or, a morning trip to check the snares, and possibly try ice fishing. And in the afternoon continue working on a painting, knife, or sculpture. That night also spent in the Yurt. The next morning, after breakfast, the guest is on their way back home.
All snowshoe gear including moccasins will be provided. All painting supplies are also provided with a possible finished painting to take home. Knife-making supplies also provided. The Friday night motel room and dinner is the guests responsibility. Three meals each day on Saturday and Sunday, and Monday breakfast will be provided.
There will be a maximum of two guests. The guests must provide their own sleeping bag and proper winter clothing and boots.
The facilities at the main cabin consist of wood heat, solar light, propane cook stove, outside hand pump for water and outhouse.
Cost will be $1,000 with a $200 non-refundable deposit to reserve a time slot. The balance to be paid by cash or certified check at Saturday breakfast.
