Winter 2017: Mike Camp is offering a two-to-three-day workshop course in landscape painting for two people. The lakefront cabin is located near Kirkland Lake which is about a seven-hour drive from Toronto. Access is by snowshoe (half hour) from the nearest road. There is no running water or electricity; conveniences consist of propane lights, a wood stove and an outhouse. The cabin is well-insulated for a good night's rest.
The course could be either two or three days with a required enrollment of two participants. The first day would be spent snowshoeing on my private trails, taking photographs with a campfire lunch. These photos could then be developed locally and a painting completed from a chosen photo over the next day or two. Everyone goes home with a finished painting. Travel from home to Kirkland Lake and back is at the participant's expense. Upon arrival, all food, lodging, painting supplies and equipment are provided.
The cost is $350/day for the two or three days, with a non-refundable $200 deposit upon booking. Balance of payment to be made upon arrival by cash or certified cheque.
For any other questions, email Mike Camp.
Other subjects available include metal sculpture and winter camping.
